Pokemon: Splinters of the Past (20th Anniversary)

Present Day - Deep in a forest by Coumarine City. 
The legendary pokemon, Celebi flew through the forest at a high speed, dodging trees and bushes as it sped past. 
Celebi: Bi bi! 
Celebi looked back to see 2 Mightyena pursuing it.
Celebi: Bi! Bi bi bi!
It continued to fly through the forest with the 2 pokemon in hot pursuit. 
It again looked behind it to see that the 2 pokemon had disappeared. 
Celebi stopped, it looked behind, confused as to where the pokemon had gone. 
Celebi: Bi?
Suddenly from a bush emerged a man on a hovering segway like machine. 
Man: Give up the pursuit! Mightyena, Dark Pulse!
A Mightyena jumped from a tree, using its attack and striking Celebi. 
Man: STRIKE! AHAHA *holds up his arm which had a device attached it*
The device on the mans arm shot out a purple bolt of electricity which then began to shock Celebi.
Celebi: BIIIIIIII! *in pain*
Man: AHAHA! Now then, once we have your body we shall use the power of science to determine the power in which you hold to time travel. 
A bright light emerged through the forest. And there stood a large blue stag like pokemon, the light began to blind the man. 
Man: WHAT? Is....this? I can't see??!!?!?
The light expanded through the forest, and soon, Celebi and the mysterious pokemon had vanished.
The man opened his eyes to see that they had gone.
Man: It can't be.....THAT'S NOT FAIR! I was so close! I could have been rich.

Present day just outside Courmarine City, Daniel and his friends were taking a break for food.
Daniel: Man! I do wish James was back with us, his food was great.
Alun: Same, it meant I didn't have to do it too.
Evan: I miss Flannery too.
Alun: Say Dan, any chance you could go and get some wood from the fire? 
Daniel: Yeah sure! Minun? Turtwig? Let's go!
Minun jumped up onto Dan's shoulders, whilst Turtwig laid napping. 
Daniel: Ah I suppose he's earned a nap. Come on then Minun, let's go! 
Evan and Jude helped Alun prepare the meal. 
Daniel and Minun both ran into the forest. 
After searching for some wood to make a fire, they eventually had a pile of wood which was enough, they then began to head back to the group.

Minun: Mai
Daniel: Minun? What's up?
Minun's ears twitched. It then ran towards the noise it had heard, Daniel followed.
Daniel: Do you hear something Minun?
Minun: Mai
Minun sniffed underneath a bush, it began to brush aside some of the leaves, revealing a weak and very injured pokemon.
Daniel: Nice find.....its...a Celebi? And its hurt....I wonder what happened.
Daniel lent down to pick it up, suddenly Celebi cried out in pain with its eyes remaining shut, green aura began to appear around it. 
Daniel touched Celebi to pick it up.
Celebi: BIIIIIIIII
Daniel's life flashed before him in a glimpse of a second. The green aura surrounded both Minun and himself, before the 3 of them vanished! 
The green aura remained in the forest, however it was faint. 



Evan: I'm starving.
Poochyena: POOCHYENA!
Alun: Me too, but we can't cook it until we have fire wood. Speaking of which Daniel has been gone for ages....I'm a bit concerned if I'm honest. Let's go and look for him. 
Alun, Evan, Jude, Turtwig and Poochyena ran into the forest. 
They searched the forest calling for Daniel and Minun, but they had no luck. 
Instead in the trees lurked someone else. 
Alun: DAN? DAN? 
The person jumped down. 
????: Are you looking for your friend? 
Standing in front of them stood a young woman dressed in tribal clothes.
Alun: Yeah, we're looking for our friend Dan and his Minun.
????: I fear he could be in danger, I saw someone not long ago with a Minun vanishing before my eyes. 
Evan: Vanishing? 
Alun: What do you mean?
????: My name is Auner and I am a guardian of this forest, specifically the legendary pokemon Celebi.
Evan: Celebi? What's that?
Alun: Celebi is the time travelling pokemon, it is said to have the power to warp into a different timeline, but its a very risky business time, if something happens that isn't suppose to, well the outcomes of that event could have damaging effects.
Turtwig: Turtwig! 
Evan: And Dan's in danger?

Auner: Yes, Celebi was injured and he disturbed it, and now he's been taken in time with Celebi....I'm worried, Celebi is hurt, and if Celebi time travels when injured....well time can be distorted. Its left a time portal here in the forest. I'm trying to protect it and keep it open so that Celebi can get back. But in order to do so the events of the past must be corrected in order for it to return. If the portal closes then time itself could be destroyed. 
Alun: And Dan's in the portal too?
Auner: Correct. I fear he could in grave danger, he may even disappear from the existence of time itself. Please follow me.
Auner let the group to the portal. 
Evan: Woah....you mean Dan's in there.
Auner: Yes, I'm trying my best to keep it open, but time needs to be corrected first, and I can't keep it open if I go inside. I need to stay here to keep the portal open. 
Alun: So you need someone to go into the portal then to correct time? 
Auner: Unfortunately so.
Alun: Well then, I'll go.
Turtwig: Turtwig!
Alun: Turtwig? You want to come to? Of course you would, Daniel is your trainer and Minun is your friend.
Evan: Well, I'm coming too. Dan has saved me before, now its my turn. 
After the 3 remaining gang members agreed to save Dan, Auner allowed them to enter the portal. 





Celadon City - June 2004
Many police cars surrounded the game corner. Inside were Daniel and his friends. They had just invaded Team Rocket's base after Jack had been kidnapped. 

Daniel, Kurt and Lowri ran through the corridors looking for Jack. 
Kurt: We've got to be quick, didn't that Giovanni fella say he was going to detonate this place and wipe out Celedon city in the process? 
Lowri: You know that's what he said Kurt, we've got to find Jack though.
Kurt: I'm just saying, we may not make it out in time, this place if filled with Electrode's as we've seen, all of which are planned to detonate, Giovanni said we've got a matter of minutes to get out if we want to live, the jerk flew away in his helicopter. 
Lowri: I know that, but what do you expect us to just leave Jack here to get caught in the explosion.
Daniel: Don't say things like that. 
Minun: Mai
Bulbasaur: Bulba! Bulbasaur saur!
Daniel: We're going to find Jack. 
Kurt: But we've also got to stop this explosion too. 
Daniel: Then you two go find a way to stop the explosion. I'm going to find Jack.
2 grunts appeared in the corridor. 
Grunt: Stop right there kids. There's no way you're getting out of here alive.
Kurt: Well if we don't, you guys certainly won't. You're going to kill yourselves if you stay here?
Grunt 2: All in the name of Team Rocket! 
Lowri: Wow, you really are as stupid as you look. Jigglypuff GO!
Kurt: Gastly GO!
The 2 grunts sent out Arbok and Golbat, who then began to glow green. 
Lowri: Dan, we'll take care of these idiots. You go and find Jack! Quick! 
The 2 pokemon attacked Gastly and Jigglypuff KO'ing them instantly. 
Lowri: WHAT? How can that be? Dan, quick!
The Arbok fired poison sting at the three of them. Poisoning them all. 
Daniel: Ouch! I feel weak. 
Beep beep beep..........
Celadon City was covered in a huge white light that could be seen from the Sinnoh and Hoenn regions, Celedon city had gone, along with everyone who was inside the city.............





Shortly before the explosion in Celedon City - June 2004 

The trio emerged into another world. 
Evan: Where are we? 
Turtwig: Turtwig?
Alun: I'm not sure. But I'm assuming we've entered Dan's past. 
They looked around to see that they were in a city. 
Alun: A city....but where? *sees the game corner* Ah, a game corner......we must be in Kanto's Celedon City.
2 police cars pulled up outside, a young Dan, along with his two friends Kurt and Lowri ran inside with 2 officers Jenny's.
Alun: Did you see that, a young boy with a Minun and a Bulbasaur....that must be Dan. He said he had a Bulbasaur once didn't he?
Evan: Yeah, and he told me before he and his friends stopped an evil team in a game corner once in Kanto.
Alun: Then we should follow.

*Jude nodded*
Jude: that's for sure where we'll find him

Alun, Evan, Jude and Turtwig followed the group inside the game corner. 

The two officer Jenny's split up inside the Team Rocket hideout. Daniel, Kurt and Lowri proceeded to run through the corridors. 
Daniel: Jack's got to be around here somewhere.
Lowri: We'll find him, no doubt, we just have to keep our cool.
Kurt: Right, let's go! 
Alun, Evan, Jude and Turtwig followed the gang. 
A young Daniel turned around. 
Daniel: Look out guys, we got trouble. 
Lowri and Kurt turned to face the gang. 
Daniel: I don't care who you are, we're here to save our friend! Minun, Bulbasaur! Ready? Use Shock Wave and Razor Leaf. 
The two attacks flew at the gang. 
Turtwig jumped in using Seed bomb, blowing up the attacks. 
Turtwig: Turtwig!
Daniel: Whoa, what's that pokemon? 
Lowri: I've never seen anything like it. 
Alun: We're here to help you....you've lost your friend right? We're......part of the international police force and we're here to help. 
Daniel: What with someone who's a couple of years younger than us? *looks at Evan* 
Evan: I'm....undercover? 
Daniel: Oh really? You're going to help us?
Alun: Sure, we're going to stop this evil organisation. 
Daniel: Okay, let's go!
The new-old gang continued running through the hallways, until they reached a large door. 
Daniel: Go! Growlithe! Use Flamethrower!
Growlithe: GROOOWWLLL! 
Growlithe's flamethrower burnt through the door. 
Daniel: ALRIGHT WE DID IT!
Minun: mai
Bulbasaur: BULBA!
Turtwig: TURTWIG! *jumps onto Dan's shoulder excited* .....Turt
Daniel: Huh?.....
Turtwig then jumped down sulking that his trainer doesn't even know who he is. 
The group entered the room. 
Stood behind a desk was a tall man wearing a suit. 
Daniel: WHERE'S OUR FRIEND?
?????: The boy? Oh he's here somewhere. 
The man turned around.
Kurt: Giovanni? 
Lowri: You're the Viridian City gym leader? 
Kurt: And leader of Team Rocket? WHAT?
Daniel: I'm not bothered who you are! I'm bothered about getting my friend back. 
Giovanni: I admire your commitment. However, this is the end for you children I'm afraid. 
Lowri: Ugh...you make me sick! I just don't understand why you are doing these cruel things.
Giovanni: The world is a business young girl. I'm just trying to make my fortune. 
Kurt: By stealing pokemon?
Giovanni: Its a black market kind of world. Now enough of this small talk! Nidoking GO!
Nidoking: NIDO!
Giovanni: Use Take Down!
Nidoking charged at the gang.
Alun: GO! Azumarill!
Azumarill: AZU AZU AZU!
Giovanni: A rare pokemon? 
Alun: Use Aqua Jet!
Azumarill and Nidoking collided. 
The two pokemon duked it out. 
Giovanni: Enough of this. I've had enough. GO! 
Nidoqueen, Rhyhorn, Onix, Persian and Tauros appeared.
Many grunts entered the room sending out Arbok, Weezing, Muk, Magneton and Golbat. 
Daniel: EVERYONE WE NEED YOU! 
Minun, Bulbasaur, Growlithe and Turtwig were joined by Golduck, Alazkazam and Sandshrew. 
Alun: We'll need to lend a hand! GO! Hitmontop! 
Lowri: Jigglypuff, Rapidash, Venonat, Gloom, Squirtle and Jynx
Kurt: GO! Help out!
Gastly, Charmeleon, Pidgeotto, Primeape, Drowzee and Poliwrath.
Jude sent out his pokemon too. 
All of the pokemon in the room duked it. 


Many pokemon were left defeated. A helicopter appeared by the smashed window. 
Giovanni: Enough of this! Return everyone! Unfortunately I bid you farewell, you've fought valiantly so far, so I suppose i owe it to tell you that this whole place is going to blow up, taking the whole of the city with it. Get out whilst you can if I were you. Farewell! 
Giovanni jumped onto a rope ladder coming from the helicopter, which then flew away.
Daniel: BLOW?
Kurt: He's....he's kidding right? 
Lowri: Somehow I don't think he's that funny. 
Daniel: We have to find Jack!
The group left the room swiftly. 


Daniel, Kurt and Lowri ran through the corridors looking for Jack.

Evan: Why's helping the bad guys?
Alun: It may be because it doesn't know who hurt it and is trying to protect itself if it thinks its Dan who hurt him. 
Daniel: Who did I hurt? 
Jigglypuff and Gastly were both knocked out. 
Lowri: They're too strong. 
Arbok and Golbat used Posion Sting on the gang. 
Daniel: QUICK!
Alun: Hitmontop use Rapid Spin! 
Daniel: Nice move! 
Lowri: we can't fight this, we need to stop the detonating and find Jack.
Evan: What if one of us went looking for Jack? 
Alun: That's a brilliant idea Ev, Jude, we'll fight off these grunts. Evan you go and find Jack, why don't the 3 of you find a way to stop the explosion?
Daniel: I'm going to find Jack! I swore to protect him. Kid let's go!
Daniel, Evan, Minun, Turtwig and Bulbasaur ran down the corridor.
Alun: Hitmontop! Let's sort these out!
Kurt and Lowri ran down another part of the corridor.

Daniel and Evan ran down the corridor, opening doors along the way, hoping to find Jack. 

Kurt and Lowri were also searching room after room for the detonator. 

Alun: Hitmontop use Rapid Spin! 
Arbok: BOK! *the light glowed around it, powering it up*
Grunt: Arbok use Acid! 
Alun: Use the Rapid Spin to dodge!
Hitmontop spun around moving side to side, dodging the attack, before crashing into Arbok. 
Alun: Now use Close Combat!
Grunt: WHAT?
Hitmontop jumped to its feet and began beating up Arbok, sending it into its trainer and both crashed through the wall. 
Alun: Nice job Hitmontop! Jude, its all on you.
*Jude rushed down his looking the detonator*

Daniel and Evan opened a large door to see a young boy tied up, crying. 
Daniel: JACK!
Bulbasaur used Razor Leaf on the ropes, freeing him.
Daniel ran over to Jack and picked him up. 
Daniel: I'm glad you're okay. 
Jack: I'm scared!
Daniel: You're okay Jack, it's all okay now. 
Evan: Um, don't we have to go?
Daniel: Right!
Turtwig: TURTWIG!
Minun: Mai
Daniel grabbed Jack's hand and ran down the corridor. 
Jack: But who are you? And who's that pokemon?
Evan: I'm Evan and I'm a friend of......uh this pokemon, its my Turtwig!
Jack: I've never heard of it.

Kurt and Lowri continued looking through doors. Lowri anxiously checked her timer.
Lowri: We've got a minute!
Kurt: Its got to be here!!!! 
Kurt: Flamethrower! 
Charmeleon burned down the door, behind it remained a room full of Electrode's strapped to a device. 
Lowri: WE FOUND IT! BUT WE'VE GOT 30 SECONDS TO STOP IT BLOWING!
Kurt: How? HOW? HOW DO WE STOP IT?
Lowri: GLOOM GO! USE ACID ON THE WIRES!
Gloom came out of its poke ball, it used Acid, melting the wires that were strapped to the Electrode's, the device began to flicker with only 5 seconds left on the clock, the device switched off.

The two of them both hugged each other happily jumping up and down then stopped after they realised they were hugging, both blushed. 
Kurt: WELL UH.. *holds out hand* GOOD JOB
Lowri: *shakes Kurt's hand* Good job to you too! 


Later on outside the building, Officer Jenny and the police arrested the grunts.

Lowri: That was intense though. I could do with some time off to relax ha
Kurt: Yeah I know what you mean. 
Alun, Evan, Jude and Turtwig began to glow, before disappearing.
Daniel: Hey! We're did they go?
Lowri: That's a shame we never caught their names.


The 4 of them travelled through time once more, when suddenly they heard the voice of Auner. 
Auner: You folks did it! Merci! Merci! You corrected time...however I'm afraid another splinter in time has formed.......
Bright lights emerged...




September 2005 
Daniel, Kurt, Lowri and Jack were walking towards Ecruteak City after not long finishing the Johto league. Daniel had been knocked out of the competition in the Top 16 by Kurt, who went on to finish in 2nd place. 
Lowri: I can't believe our journey in Johto is over. Next stop, Pallet Town! I can't wait for Mum and Dad to see all the new pokemon I've caught.
Wigglytuff: WIGGLY!
Kurt: Yeah and I bet my Mum watched my match in the finals on tv. I can't wait to show her my runners up trophy as well as Gengar, Charizard and all my new pokemon. 
Jack: You beat Dan too! Don't forget!
Daniel: Alright, no need to rub it in.
Minun: Mai
Bulbasaur: BULBA!
As they continued walking towards the city, they could see one of the famous towers standing in the distance, however, lots of smoke was coming from it. 
Daniel: What's that? Smoke?
Lowri: You don't suppose its on fire do you?
The gang picked up their pace.

They arrived at Ecruteak City to see many people in a frenzy. 
Daniel: What's going on?
Bystander: The Bell Tower is on fire. 
Daniel: The Bell Tower? 
The gang followed the smoke and ran towards the Bell Tower. 
Morty was outside. 
Morty: How has this happened? 
Daniel: Morty what's going on?
Morty: Dan? I've no idea. the Bell tower is on fire, and people are inside! I'm going in to help! Misdrevous come on! 
Morty ran in.
Daniel: I'm going in too! 
Minun: Mai
Bulbasaur: Bulbasaur!
Daniel: Its too dangerous for a grass type like you Bulbasaur, stay out here with Jack and look after him. Minun will you watch over them too. In fact! Cyndaquil come on out!
Cyndaquil: QUIL! Cynda Cynda
Daniel: Will you lend a hand in looking after Jack, Cyndaquil?
Minun: Mai
Daniel, Kurt, and Lowri entered the tower. 


Daniel: Slowing use Hydro Pump to put out the flames.
Lowri: Blastoise! Help us out!
Kurt: Alright Quagsire use Hydro Pump too! 
The 3 water pokemon use their Hydro Pump to help. 
This allowed the gang to move around the tower. 
Some of bits of wood began falling from the roof.
Daniel: Espeon! Confusion!
Espeon stopped the wood from hitting the people who were fleeing the tower.
Daniel: Umbreon protect us! Use Protect!
Umbreon brought out a barrier to stop the gang from getting hurt as they moved around. 
Morty: How is this happening? The same thing happened all those years ago to the Brass Tower and now this! 
The people fled! 
Daniel: Okay that's everyone, let's evacuate the building. 
Before them emerged 3 large beasts, one blue, one yellow and one brown. 
Morty: Impossible! It can't be!
Lowri: Suicune?
Daniel: Entei?
Kurt: Raikou?
Morty: The legendary beasts of Johto! But why? 
The 3 beasts began to glow in the same green energy that surrounded the Arbok and Golbat. 
Raikou then attack, with a large bolt of lightning striking Kurt, whilst Suicune use Waterfall on Lowri, which began to drown her.
Daniel: KURT! LOWRI? WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS? Slowing use....
Entei then let out a large burst of fire, which emerged around Daniel.
Morty: NO!
The Tower exploded, as flames scattered across the town..........



Moments before the previous events
Alun, Evan, Jude and Turtwig appeared in the town. 
Evan: Where are we now? We've teleported again. I want to go back to our time.
Alun looked around to see the Bell Tower in flames. 
Alun: The Bell Tower? We're in Johto, in Ecruteak City this time, I saw these events on the news, the tower was on fire....we've got to help.

Jude:.... we'll do our best, but we are fire specialists

The group headed towards the tower in a hurry. 

Daniel, Kurt, and Lowri along with Morty tried their best to put out the flames.
Whilst Alun, Evan and Jude entered the burning tower. 
Daniel: Slowking! Hydro Pump! 
Alun: Azumarill! Let's go! 
Daniel turned to see the heroes standing behind them.
Daniel: Who are you?
Alun: No time to explain! We're here to help though. 
Daniel nodded. 
Through the flames emerged 3 figures, all 3 glowing green. 
Morty: Its the legendary beasts, Raikou, Suicune and Entei. 
The 3 beasts faced Kurt, Lowri and Daniel. 
Alun: Woah, the 3 beasts of Johto were apart of this incident. 
Evan: They're glowing like those other pokemon from before. 
Alun: DANIEL! LOOK OUT ITS GOING TO ATTACK!
The 3 beasts let out an attack.
Morty: Gastly use Protect! 
Lastly stopped the attacks hitting the gang. 
Alun: These beasts are stronger than normal. If we all team up, we can beat them. Jude help Lowri take down Suicune, Kurt and Morty take on Raikou. Dan, I'll help you beat Entei! Evan, get outside, and stop Jack from attempting to enter this place. 
Evan: Right. 
Evan ran outside. 
Daniel: You know our names?
Alun: Like I said, we haven't got time. Aqua Tail Azumarill! 
Daniel: Slowing use Hydro Pump, Cyndaquil give us a hand with Flamethrower.
Cyndaquil came out
Cyndaquil: CYNDA! 
After a long fought battle of stalling, the 3 beasts stopped glowing. They then ran from the building. 
Daniel: Its over? 
Kurt: Looks that way. 
Morty: Then let's go! Gastly, protect us!
A protect shield surrounded the gang as they left the building, suddenly a cry could be heard.
Alun: What's that? 

Outside a mother began screaming.
Mother: My baby! My baby! She's in there please. Help! PLEASE!
The building began to collapse even more.

The gang ran outside, hugging Jack. 
Kurt heard the mother's cry for help.
Kurt: Someone's still in there....
Kurt ran back inside.
Daniel: Kurt wait! 
Daniel followed but was stopped by 3 firemen. 
Fireman: Hold on fella its dangerous in there.
Daniel: I know that I just came from there, but my friend ran back inside.
Fireman: Our men will help your friend, its too dangerous in there for anyone who isn't trained.

Kurt ran up a burning stairs just as he reached the top, it fell beneath him

Kurt: Phew that was close. 
He could hear the little girl's screams coming from a room on that floor, he ran through the door to see a young girl curled up in the corner of the room, screaming as the flames came towards her. 
Kurt: Quagsire, use a Hydro Pump. 
Quagsire put out the flames around the girl, when from above, part of the roof came down, hitting it on the head, knocking it out cold.
Kurt: Quagsire! Return quick!
Flames surrounded the door making it impossible to escape that way. 
Kurt ran to the window, he shouted out to the other who were waiting outside below. 
Kurt: I've found the girl, the only way to get out is through the window! Get ready to catch her. 
Kurt lifted the little girl up and let held her out of the window, before letting go!
The girl fell towards the floor.
Morty: Gastly, protect! 
The girl landed on the shield, unharmed. 
Kurt: HOLD IT UP I'M NEXT!
A crashing sound came from above. 
Kurt looked up.

The tower exploded, sending dust through the city. 
The group below used the protect to protect themselves. 
Lowri: NO! NO! KURT!
Daniel:.....No....please....
Jack: KURT!!!
Minun: MAI
Bulbasaur: BULBA!
The dust cleared and suddenly, Alun, Evan and Jude began to glow, they disappeared in a bright light.

The bright light faded, Alun, Evan and Jude returned back to their time. They reappeared in the forest, by a shrine, Auner stood there, with Daniel and Minun beside them. 
Daniel: W-w-what happened.
Auner: You were trapped in time itself, but your heroic friends have saved you.
Daniel looked at Alun, Evan, Jude and Turtwig standing in front of him.
Daniel: You guys....saved me? 
Evan had tears in his eyes.
Daniel: Ev? Why are you so sad?
Evan: Your friend.....Kurt....he died?
Daniel: Kurt? Dead, when?
Alun: In order to save you we had to live through moments of your past. We lived through the moment you and your friends saved those people in Johto.....
Daniel put his arm on Evan's shoulder.
Daniel: Ev.....there's no need to be upset. Kurt didn't die in the end. Believe me, I had to carry the pain for a few years, believing your best friend was dead, but he's not he's very much alive.....he's actually taking care of one of my pokemon, my Cyndaquil.
Evan: Really:? 
Alun: How did he survive?
Daniel: Honestly, I've not really got a the foggiest, but all I know is he did, and he's now a qualified Pokemon Ranger. He's doing well, so please don't worry. In fact, I'll introduce you to him sometime I'm sure. 
Evan: Well thats good! I was worried for a moment. 
Daniel: So you guys really saved me? I've no idea what to say except for thank you.
Turtwig ran into Daniel's arms.
Daniel: You helped too? 
Turtwig nodded. 
Daniel: You guys.....are the best.
