Pokemon: Adventures in Hoenn

Daniel: We should take Sealeo back to his owners widow.

*Carlotta looked at the group*
Carlotta:.......It would be best for Spheal to go with you...... staying here, with me in this old warn down shack, the world needs to see Sealeo's smile, and I can't do that in my old age, though that's what Terrance would have wanted, take good care of Tundric for us will you?
Clare:.....I will, I won't let you down
Carlotta: You have already met my expectations..... Tundric is safe in your hands

Daniel: So it looks like Sealeo is officially joining the ranks!
Alun: An official new pokemon for you Clare!
Amy: That's so sweet

Clare: Thank you *Clare held Sealeo's Pokeball* alright, next stop, Lavaridge for your Pokken challenge Daniel

The gang made their way to Lavaridge Town. 
As they made their way to Mt. Chimney, Amy's Pokegear began to beep.
Amy: Oh my!
Daniel: What is it?
Amy answered, with a concerned voice.
On the phone, was a Nurse Joy
Nurse Joy: Amy? We would like you to come to the hospital as soon as you can.
Amy: Oh? Is everything okay?
Nurse Joy: We'll give you all the details when we get there
Daniel: Is everything alright?
Amy: Plusle....
Alun: Is Plusle okay?
Amy: I-I don't know. But they've asked me to come in.
Daniel: Then what are we waiting for, come on let's go.

Clare: Y...ya... let's go *Clare rushed off to get there as fast as possible and not slow AMy down*

Soon, the gang arrived outside a huge white building. 
Daniel: Woah, this place is massive! This is a hospital?
Amy: Yeah...well kind of. 
Alun: What is this place then?
Amy: Its an organisation, they look after pokemon and people, Plusle is part of their hospital unit though.
Alun: An organisation? 
Amy: They take in pokemon and look after them, and also people too who need help.

Clare:...We should go check on Plusle....

Daniel: We should go in then and see Plusle. 
Amy: ....Yeah...
Minun: Mai
Daniel held Amy's hand.
Daniel: It'll be fine. 
Amy: I hope so.
The group entered, there were many people wearing lab coats walking around. 
Alun: How long has this place been here?
Amy: Its quite new. Its been open here for the best of a year. 
Evan: How long has Plusle been here?
Amy: Six months. They told me that it would be best to leave Plusle here undisturbed, at least until its better. 
Daniel: So they wouldn't let you visit?
Alun: You'd think visiting Plusle would help it recover.
Amy: I wanted to visit. So so badly. But they wouldn't let me. 
Alun: That's quite strange. 

The group walked up the reception desk.
Receptionist: WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME ALL! We here at the Aether Foundation welcome you and how can we be of service.
Alun: Aether Foundation?

Clare: ....We are hear to see a Pokemon you have in your possession

Receptionist: Possession? Ahaha, we here at Aether Foundation do not keep pokemon here as possessions, the pokemon here are to be nurtured under our care, in order to help them function. 
Daniel: Yeah yeah, that's great and all, but like our friend said, we're here to see Nurse Joy
Amy: I had a phone call about my Plusle.
Receptionist: Let me look it up. One moment please.
Alun: So what is Aether? I've not heard of it before.
Receptionist: We recently set up here in the Hoenn region earlier this year. However, it was one of our expansions in the last few years, we're reaching out to all pokemon over the world. 
Alun: So you must have started out somewhere?
Receptionist: Our main headquarters are in the region of Alola. 
Daniel: Alola? 
Alun: Alola, its a far off region, consisting of 4 islands if I remember correctly. Its an exotic region similar to Hoenn. 
Daniel: Sounds quite interesting! 
Receptionist: Excellent, okay follow me please. 
Amy: Is Plusle okay?
Receptionist: Nurse Joy shall tell you everything you need to know.
The receptionist led the gang through the many rooms. Eventually arriving at a ward. 
Receptionist: Right through there please.
The gang entered the ward.
Nurse Joy: Why hello there. How may I help you? 
Amy took off her wig. 
Nurse Joy: Ah! Amy! So good to see you, I'm so glad you could make it here so quickly. 
Amy looked over to where Plusle's bed is, to see it was empty.
Amy: Oh please no.....
Nurse Joy: Please do not worry. I asked you to visit because I believe Plusle has made a big recovery.
Amy: Really? That's such a relief. 
Nurse Joy: In fact, if you look outside, Plusle is playing with our other pokemon. 
Amy rushed to the window, outside, Plusle was playing with pokemon, it was running around with Oddish, Psyduck, Sewaddle and Sandshrew. 
Amy: Oh Plusle. It brings me such joy to see Plusle running around. 
Daniel: Plusle looks so healthy!
Nurse Joy: The rehabilitation programme has worked wonders for it. Shall we go visit? 
Amy: Yes please. 
As the gang walked out of the ward, they heard screaming.
Daniel: What's that? 
????: PLEASE PLEASE LET ME GO!
Alun: What's going on here?

*Clare looked at the trainer*
Clare: W...what`s going on over there?

*Clare looked at the trainer*

A woman pushed 2 people in lab coats out of the way. 
Woman: Please let me go! I need to get out of here, my family need me. 
The woman was wearing a gown. 
The woman ran up the hallway, spotting the gang. 
Doctor: Stop here! She must remain in the unit! 
The woman stopped, looking at the gang. 
Woman: Oh my! My baby! I-is it really you? 
The woman fell to the ground, fainting.
Evan stared at the woman.
Evan: Mummy??
Daniel: MUMMY?

Clare: W....what is this place? *Clare tried to help the woman up*

Doctor: It's not what it looks like.
Daniel clenched his fist.
Daniel: WHAT THE HELL IS EVAN'S MOTHER DOING HERE? 
Alun: What's going on? 
Evan didn't know what to do.
Daniel: Why are you keeping her here against her will. She wants to go. YOU LET HER LEAVE.
Doctor: No please. It's not like that. We found her. One the streets, she kept saying crazy things, like her husband had turned to Team Magma, but that doesn't exist. Then she said about her 2 sons but there were no signs of her children when we found her. 
Alun: So you thought she was some insane lunatic. 
Daniel: And you refused to listen to her?
Doctor: She's attacked many of our staff, we've had to restrain her and keep her here. We've developed rehabilitation programmes for her. We thought we were making progress.
Daniel: You kept her here like she was in a mental asylum. You people are wrong. 
Doctor: Please, you have to see it from our point of view. We thought we were helping her, it was for her own good.
Alun: We want to hear her side of the story.

Evan's mother woke up, back in bed, surrounded by the gang. 
She began to cry seeing Evan. 
Alun: Sara, its really him.
Sara: Oh my sweet little Evan
Evan was still unsure what to do.
Sara: I'm so so sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen. You have to believe me. 
Alun: What happened?
Sara: Well the most horrible thing. Me, Rob, Evan, Tayl, we were all a happy little family, things were going so well. But then one night, Rob got back from work, he was completely different. He was angry, he didn't recognise me, or our children. I tried to speak to him, but he wouldn't listen.  It wasn't the man I married. He tried to attack me, he wanted to get into our safe.
Amy: Your safe? 
Sara: Yes. Rob's father, Evan's grandfather used to work for a company named Silph.Co, and also worked at the Pokeball factory in Laverre City. He developed a pokeball like no other. An indestructable ball, that would capture any pokemon, I mean any pokemon.
Alun: The Master Ball?
Sara: Yes. He made quite a few of them, but realised the problem that could occur, if those balls got into the wrong hands, then chaos could ensue. 
Daniel: People could capture legendary pokemon?
Sara: Yes, and disrupt the whole world. So Evan's grandfather tried to destroy them but couldn't, so he scattered them across the world. One, however he gave to Rob, Rob had such a gentle heart, he knew he could trust him. But Rob kept it in our safe, out of the hands of others. 
Amy: But then one day he changed?
Sara: I'm afraid so, it was like it wasn't him at all. He just didn't seem right. He got into the safe, I tried to stop him, so he got his pokemon to attack me. I asked Evan's grandfather to look after both of my boys, I went to stop Rob, but it wasn't enough. But I found out he was working for an organisation named Team Flare. 
Daniel: Team Flare? But the Doctor said Team Magma? 
Amy: And we shut Team Magma down years ago. 
Sara: That's the thing, A scientist and his Hypno were working for Team Flare, but when really they working for Team Magma, the new reformed group. He had found out about Rob's father and how he made the Master Ball, he wanted to get his hands on it. So travelled to Kalos, pretending to work for Team Flare. 
Daniel: This is all confusing.
Sara: Somehow he changed Rob. Anyway, I tried to stop them like I said, but it wasn't enough, so I headed back to my children, to find that the house had been burnt down. Rob's father was dead, and my children were missing. I lost my mind. I just......walked away *begins to cry* I had lost everything, my house, my husband, but most importantly, my children.
Amy: That's so sad. 
Alun: We at school heard about the house incident, one of the staff went and brought Evan to the school when he was found.  It was presumed the rest of the family had perished. But when the investigation went out, no bodies were found, which made me curious. I've always believed there was much more behind it all. I had a feeling you were alive. It just didn't make sense. Then when Dan came along, I could see Evan looked up to him a lot and thought it would be good for him to get out there. 
Daniel: And a year later, and here we are. 
Sara: Thank you for reuniting us. Evan I've missed you so much. I thought I had lost you
Evan still remained silent.
Daniel: We met Rob recently
Sara: The recent Mauvile City incident? 
Daniel: Yes.....
Sara: I saw on the news, I was recovering recently, I was doing well at rehab when I saw the news, seeing Rob send me down a dark path, but then I saw Evan on the news, and I knew I had to leave. 
Doctor: You see, we had made progress with Sara, but then we thought she had a set back so thought she was imagining things. 
Daniel: I see.
Doctor: We tried keeping her here to help her get back on track. 
Alun: That makes more sense.
Doctor: We had no idea she was telling the truth. We would have helped her if we thought she was. 
Daniel: I should hope so. 
Sara: I fear the worst though, Rob's used the Master Ball, on Mewtwo, and now is doing evil with it. 
Amy: Luckily there were enough people to stop Mauvile getting destroyed. 
Sara looked at Evan
Sara: Evan please forgive me.
Evan ran out of the room.
Sara: Oh Evan....
Daniel: I'll go see him. 
Minun: Mai
Turtwig: Twig
Daniel: Amy, go and see Plusle, its a reunion that has been put on delay. Clare will you go with Amy. 
Alun: I'll stay here with Sara.
Daniel: Right!
Daniel ran out of the room

*Clare followed Amy to Plusle*

Daniel followed Evan out of the building. 
Daniel: Hey pal, stop. 
Evan stopped running. 
Daniel: Let's go for a walk shall?
Evan nodded
Daniel: Come on then.
Minun: Mai
Turtwig: Twig
Daniel: This must be really hard for you mustn't it. But it's not all that bad. We found your mum. That's what you wanted. And I know your dad isn't what you remembered, but listening to your mum, it doesn't sound natural, I think he needs saving Ev, and I promise you, that's what we will do. Ev, its all going to be okay, soon, you'll be with your mum, and your dad. I just know it. 
Evan: I miss the days when Dad used to play with me and Tayl.
Daniel: Yeah I bet. What did you used to play?
Evan: He used to pretend to be a fierce Entei and we used to ride on his back. 
Daniel: Sounds like a lot of fun. 
Evan: I miss it. 
Daniel: I know you do. But your mum is back on the scene, and she's missed you so much, it wasn't her fault. It's good that you have this second chance with her. 
Evan began to cry.
Daniel pulled Ev in for a hug.
Daniel: Don't cry Ev......it'll be alright. Let's go and see your mum....
The duo started walking back. 


Amy and Clare went into the gardens. The pokemon were playing happily. 
Alun watched from the window above. He saw the pokemon playing, then noticed a pokemon on its own. It was looking at the skies, looking at freedom.
Alun: I'm just going to pop outside.
Sara: Okay.
Amy and Clare walked further into the gardens, they saw Plusle. 
Plusle stopped playing, its ears twitched. It then looked, seeing Amy and Clare
Plusle: PLU PLU!
Amy: Oh Plusle!!!!
Plusle came dashing over to Amy, jumping into her arms. 
Amy had tears in her eyes.
Amy: Its so so good to see you Plusle, and to see you looking better. 

Alun entered the gardens. 
He walked up to the pokemon on its own. 
The pokemon was a pokemon he had seen before, expect it looked very different to normal. 
Alun: Marowak. Hello *gets down on one knee*
Marowak was much darker than normal, it had a marking on his skull. 
Alun: You don't like it here do you?
Marowak shook its head.
Alun: That's one strong bone you have there
Marowak: WAK
Alun: I've never seen one quite like it.
Marowak could see Alun's admiration. It then used Flamethrower, lighting the ends of the bone, a bluish colour, it then began to spin the bone around.
Alun: WOW! That's quite the show. (How strange, a Marowak using fire type moves, this isn't a normal Marowak that's for sure)

Clare: Seems much better, glad to see the guy in good shape

Daniel and Evan made their way back to his mothers room. 
Sara: Oh Evan! 
Evan ran up to his mum, throwing his arms around her. 
Both started to cry.
Daniel nodded and drew the curtains. Giving them some time alone. 
Daniel wandered out into the garden, watching Plusle reunite with its owner, he then noticed Alun.
Daniel: Al, what's going on?
Alun: Dan, Minun, Turtwig, meet Marowak.
Daniel: Marowak? It looks so different to a regular Marowak, is it a shiny?
Alun: No, it seems to posses fire powers. I believe its different, its not a ground type at all. 
Daniel: But how is that possible? 
A researcher emerged.
Researcher: Its an alternate form of Marowak. 
Daniel and Alun: Alternate form?
Alun: How?
Researcher: I strongly believe that this Marowak has somehow come over from Alola. The tropical weather there sometimes causes the pokemon that are native there to change over time. Researcher shows that this Marowak is a Fire/Ghost type rather than Ground. Problem is, I haven't been able to conduct research on it, it won't let me do anymore.
Alun: Maybe because it feels trapped in these 4 walls and wants freedom? Did you think about that?
Researcher: Yes...but....I suppose. 
Alun: Marowak is wild right?
Researcher: That's correct yes. 
Alun reached into his pocket, pulling out a pokeball.
Researcher: You can't do that....
Alun: Oh yeah? *presses pokeball against Marowak* 
Researcher: That's stealing!
Marowak went inside the pokeball, clicking instantly. 
Daniel: Gotcha! 
Researcher: I'm going to have to report you for that? 
Alun: For helping a pokemon to be free? Go ahead, I'm sure Officer Jenny would love to see how unhappy the pokemon are?
Researcher: We're trying our best
Daniel: You'll have to try harder. If you're really here to help Pokemon, then work at it, make environments that they feel comfortable in. 
Alun: Yes. They shouldn't feel like they're trapped here. 
Researcher: I promise, we'll work at it. 
Alun: I hope you do. 
Daniel: Al, let's go! 
Alun: Right!

Daniel and Alun ran back to Amy, Clare and Plusle. 
Amy: So Plusle, are you ready to come back to my team? Phanpy and Ledian would love to work with you again! 
Phanpy: Phan phan
Plusle jumped back into Amy's arms. 
Daniel: Looks like Plusle is up for that.
Plusle and Minun began dancing together.
Amy: Just like old times
Daniel: Right.....let's go see Evan....*looks disappointed*
Amy: What's up?
Daniel: He's reunited with his mum now, that's what he wanted. 
Alun: And rightfully so.
Daniel: I guess he couldn't travel with us forever.
Alun: But he can't exactly stay here. 
Daniel: I know......which is why, we're getting her out. *holds pokeball* GO Kirlia! 
The gang went back up to the room, Evan and his mother were holding each other tightly. 
Daniel: Sara....we're breaking you out.
Sara: But how? 
Kirlia: KIR KIRLIA!
Daniel: Everyone, hold onto each other. 
Everyone grabbed onto one another. 
Daniel: Kirlia, Teleport!
The gang instantly vanished. 





The gang reappeared on Mt. Chimney. 
Daniel: WE ESCAPED!
Evan: MUM YOU'RE FINALLY FREE!
Sara got teary. 
Sara: I can't believe I'm finally out. After all this time. 
Daniel: Now you're free....

Evan: B-But *lip starts quivering* 
Daniel: You wanted your family back, this is your family Ev, I'm so glad you reunited with your mum.

Daniel: So look after him.....
Sara: But how? I have no where for him to stay at the moment. Actually I was thinking, whilst I try and set up a place to live, would you take Evan with you still?

Sara: Homeless, its not a place for a young boy, and he's grown so so much with you Dan. So please take him with you, just for a bit longer, until I have a working unit for him. In the mean time, if Evan survived, then I know Tayl did too, so I need to find him too. 
Daniel: I understand....Ev, looks like you've got me for a bit longer
Evan: Aha! *runs up and hugs Dan*
Dan hugged Evan back, relieved that they could stay together.
Sara: In the meantime, keep in contact with me regularly. 
Daniel: Of course.
Sara hugged Evan
Sara: Right be good.....I'll see you soon....
Sara went on the cable cart back down the mountain. 
Amy: So I got Plusle back.....Evan's mum is okay and free....
Alun: I acquired a new pokemon....of a different sort! 
Daniel: And just in time.....because Flannery, she's our next opponent. Let's go!
Daniel began running down the mountain, Evan following with Minun and Turtwig.

Clare: Hey wait up! *she and Delibird chased after him*

On their way to Lavaridge Town, Daniel and Alun were training against Amy and Clare
Daniel: Use Dragonbreath Shellgon!
Alun: Marowak, Bonemergang!
Amy: Dodge Plusle, use Shock Wave! 
Daniel: I'll use my assist, Pyroar use Flamethrower! 
Alun: Good idea! Azumarill, HELP US! Use Aqua Jet! 
Evan watched eagerly, stroking Poochyena. 
Someone was watching from the bushes. 
The individual jumped out. 
????: SO COOL!
Evan jumped.
Evan: AH!
????: A Shiny Poochyena!
Poochyena began to growl. 
The battle stopped as the gang turned to the individual. 
Standing by Evan was a man, who was actually the same height as him. 
Amy: No way!
Alun: Who's he?
Daniel: It isn't is it?
Amy: Tom! 
Standing in front of the gang was Daniel and Amy's school friend, Tom. 
Daniel: Awesome!
Tom: Woah, a shiny Azumarill.....a shiny Pyroar! These are so so awesome!.....Oh...Hey Amy, hey Dan! 
Amy ran over, giving Tom a hug
Tom: Uh....good to see you.
Amy: It's been a while.
Tom: What's with the new hair....I barely recognise you?
Amy: Oh well, I uh....I'm in hiding aha!
Tom: That's fair. So Dan, is that your Pyroar? 
Daniel: Sure is! Good to see you again pal. 
Alun: Hi, I'm Alun, nice to meet you. 
Evan: I'm Evan!
Amy: This is Tom, he went to school with me and Dan all those years ago. He's the one who helped me when we had the tsunami a few years ago. 
Tom: Seems like a long time ago now. 
Daniel: So Tom, what cool pokemon have you got now?
Tom: I've been collecting some great ones! COME ON OUT!
Tom threw some pokeballs, revealing a Charizard, Haxorus, Sceptile, Metagross and Dragonair. Each pokemon was a different colour than normal. 
Daniel: WOAH!
Evan: They're all different colours.
Alun: Very interesting, they're all shiny pokemon. How rare!
Amy: Tom is a shiny collector. 
Tom: That's right, so if you've got a shiny Pyroar, I bet you've got some cool pokemon
Daniel: I sure do! COME ON GUYS!
Greninja and Kirlia came out to join Minun, Turtwig, Pyroar, and Shellgon. 
Tom: Oh....only 1 shiny pokemon...how disappointing. HOW ABOUT YOU?
Alun: Me? Well Azumaril is mine. 
Tom: AWESOME! SO COOL! WOAH. A Marowak......hang on...that's not a shiny Marowak....but its not a normal Marowak either...what's going on.
Alun: Marowak is from a far off region where it had to adapt to its surroundings.
Tom: That's quite interesting.
Daniel: Hey Tom, I'm training for the Pokken league....Please can we have a battle, you've got such an awesome looking team, I'd love to battle them
Tom: No....I'm afraid not my friend.
Daniel: WHAT? Why not?
Tom: I don't battle. I don't believe in it...
Amy: Don't you remember? Tom used to hate battling in school, he hated those lessons in school. Can't you remember the others being nasty to him about it.
Daniel: Oh yeah I completely forgot. 
Evan: Why don't you like battles?
Tom: Pokemon aren't here to fight, they're here to live and live alongside us. Especially the rare shiny ones. They're so cool.

*Delibird looked at him in disbelief*
Clare: Not all Pokemon want to fight Delibird
*Delibird looked a little disappointed at that*
Clare: Fair enough view there Tom, no matter what Delibird thinks you should not feel ashamed for not battling there are many ways that trainers can be with their Pokemon and not battle, from, Pokeatholons, to Furfrou grooming, to Pokemon Showcases, tracking, Racing, a bunch of cool ways to work with them

Tom: Oh no I don't do anything like that. I just capture as many shiny pokemon as possible, we're friends. We travel around Hoenn together, and hang out like friends do. 
Daniel: Sounds.....fun...Are you sure you don't want to battle my Pyroar? 
Tom: I'm sure! Aha, I just don't like to
Daniel: You're afraid I'll beat you aren't you? 
Tom: You're right.
Daniel: I knew it! I'll go easy!
Tom: I was kidding. 
Daniel: Aw man. Let down.
Alun: I've never seen you like this before Dan.
Amy: He always used to be like it with Tom in school....Dan actually respected Tom in school, whilst all of the other students made fun of him for not wanting to battle, Dan defended him. And ever since him and Tom have had a friendship where Dan winds him up about it, and Tom has always gone along with it. They both know that neither of them are serious. That's whats so great about it. 

FLASHBACK


At Viridian City Trainer School. 
Mr Weeks: Okay class, can we all select one of the pokeballs provided. 
The class grabbed a pokeball out of the box each....one pokeball remained.
Mr Weeks: Tom, I'm afraid its that time, please take the pokeball.....
Tom: But I don't want to fight
Mr Weeks: I know but its part of school, I have to teach you.
Tom: Oh okay....
A boy with bright blonde hair called Corey spoke out.
Corey: What kind of loser doesn't want to battle.....what a wimp. Isn't that right Kurt...
Kurt: Uh...yeah....
Another boy, named Sam also spoke out
Sam: You'll never make it as a trainer if you don't battle. 

Outside of class at playtime, each of the pupils got to play with the pokemon they had chosen.
A child Daniel ran onto the yard with Amy and Lowri and Minun.
Daniel: Minun, let's see which pokemon we have today! GO!
Out of the pokeball came a Koffing!
Daniel: Woah a Koffing! 
Minun: Mai
Lowri: GO!
Out of the pokeball came a Bellsprout
Amy: Let's see who we have! GO!
Geodude came out of the pokeball. 
The 3 children started playing with the pokemon. 

Over by the trees, Tom stood, watching the others.
Tom: I wonder who will be my friend today. GO
Out of the pokeball came a Diglett. 
Tom: Hey little guy! Me and you have a lot in common, let's be friends. 
Corey: Hey look, Shorty has a small pokemon, just like him. 
Sam: HAHA What a loser.
Kurt: A Diglett? That's a cool pokemon
Corey: Are you for real? 
Kurt: Uh...I mean...its so small.
Corey: Machop. Show Shorty how pokemon should be! Karate Chop!
Sam: Poliwag use Water Gun on them! 


Moments later, Corey, Sam and Kurt ran passed Daniel and the girls playing with their pokemon. 
Daniel: What did those guys just do?
Amy: They look like they were up to something.
Lowri: Ugh. I hate those guys, they're so horrible.
Amy: Look....Tom's over there...
Tom was cry under the tree. Diglett had fainted and Tom was bruised.
Daniel and the girls ran up to him
Daniel: Tommy you okay? 
Tom: I'm fine.....*tears*
Daniel: Did those guys tried to get you to have a battle? 
Tom nodded
Daniel: Those jerks. Minun, Koffing. We'll show them whose boss! 
Lowri: What horrible boys. I really don't like them.
Amy: Tommy, Dan will stop them. Let's get you and Diglett inside and see Sir. 

Daniel challenged Corey and Sam to a battle, coming out of top with his Koffing using Smokescreen and Minun using Shock Wave. 
Daniel: If someone doesn't want to battle they don't have to. Leave Tom alone. 
Corey: Whatever dude..

Amy: Dan always had a good heart.
