Pokemon: Adventures in Hoenn

Amy: Woah, that's terrible, I'm so sorry, but how did you get your sight back?

Clare: Years later, an expensive surgery and treatment beyond my families pay grade, paid in full by one Lysnandres.... in exchange most likely for my sister's employment by him *Clare looked at the ground, defeated

Alun: Lysandre paid for your treatment?
Evan: Maybe he's not all bad?
Daniel: I never thought he was, I think his ideals were just misguided. 
Alun: Yeah, I mean we had some great adventures as kids.
Amy: Lysandre? So he's the Team Flare crook?
Daniel: Indeed!
Amy: So Clare, your sister works for Lysandre?

Clare: Worked......... she was in charge of Jude's group, but now.... we put her behind bars... she is unfortunately out of our lives for now *she looked at the ground, still sad at that revelation*

Amy: That's so sad, I don't know where I'd be without my sister, no matter how annoying she gets, we've still got each others backs.

Clare:.....I know..... I know..... but that's why we go forward with a smile on my face..... because I can't keep dwelling on the bad when there is so much good in this world *she looked up, glancing at the group, finishing and keeping her eyes on Dan* honestly, I left my days of black eyeliner and hair dye behind me, so don't you go worrying about me, though I wouldn't mind a constant reason to put that smile on every morning *she smiled ending it, possibly able to be interpreted as someone instead of one thing if one were to think it over* .....or night *she let out a yawn, covering her mouth as they got to the Pokemon center, extending her left arm high above her head*

Daniel and the gang arrived at the pokemon center, ready to head straight to bed. 



The next day, the gang made their way to gym. 
Out of the doors of the gym appeared 2 very familiar figures. 
Daniel: No way! What a surprise! 
Standing in front of the gang were Joel and Alex from the Kalos league.
Daniel: I can't believe we're bumping into you too!
Joel: Alright mate! 
Alex: Aha pal! Good to see you. 
Alun: Alex, Joel, long time hey!
Evan: Nice to see you again. 
Joel and Alex looked at Amy and Clare. 
Joel: Oi oi!
Alex: Got yourself a girlfriend have you? 
Daniel: What? AH! UH...No this is Clare, you remember from the Kalos league! And this is my oldest friend. Amy! 
Amy: Hi both! *smiles*
Alex began tugging on Joel's shoulder in a daze. 
Daniel: So what are you doing here?
Alex: Well, we've just beaten Brawly and Erin! 
Joel: Together that is! 
Alun: So I take it that means you both qualified for the Pokken tournament?
Joel: That's right! 
Daniel: Well looks like we'll be rivals again? 
Alex: So who you tagging with Dan, one your pretty lady friends?
Daniel: Sure am, the prettiest one of them all. Alun!
Alun laughed
Alun: Yeah, so it looks like I'll be a rival for you guys too. 
Daniel: And we won't go down easily. 
Minun: Mai
Turtwig: Twig! 
Daniel: So you've beaten the first facility? 
Alex: Yeah so we move up to the next rank.
Alun: That's good to know!
Evan: Dan and Alun are going to rock it! 
Joel: I'm sure they will, hey why don't we watch you guys! Could be fun
Daniel: Fine with me
Alun: Me too! 
Alex: Gives us a chance to get to know your new gal pal.
Amy: Lovely........

Clare: C....Can you not use the phrase Gal pal to describe her? They are just friends, pals, buddies, however you want to put it *she began twirling her thumbs around each other, clearly a little defensive about that comment*
*Delibird pulled on Amy's leg, a devilish grin on his face, an ice punch in his other hand, asking her if he wanted him to keep him back*
*Clare looked down at Delibird, disappointed in him for even suggesting such an act, shaking her head in a no, turning her head to Dan next, wondering who he'd send out*
*Delibird looked disappointed in itself, until Clare turned her head away from him, repeating the motion again, seemingly just waiting for Amy to tell him to do it*

The gang entered the gym ready for the battle to begin. The gym looked a lot different than before, there was a boxing ring, lots of punching bags and weight machines. Waiting inside the boxing ring stood Brawly and Erin.
Evan, Amy, Clare, Alex and Joel took their places in the stalls.

Dan and Alun walked into the boxing ring.
Brawly: Alright then dudes, so you'll be up against me first, so you've got to decide which one of you will go first.
Daniel: Al, you're the better battler in this type of battle, want to go up first and get us a win in the bag?
Alun: Hey this was your idea to take on the Pokken league, you can go first if you'd like. 
Daniel: You sure?
Alun: Sure, go for it! 
Daniel: Ah sorted! Okay Brawly, I'll go first. 
Alun and Erin stepped to the side of the ring, a barrier appeared around the ring.
Evan: Here we go!
Minun: Mai
Turtwig: Twig!


Brawly: Hairyama! GO!
Daniel: Greninja!!!!!!! 
Both pokemon appeared in the ring. 
3,2,1.....go!
Daniel: Greninja! Water Pulse! 
Greninja fired a water pulse at Hairyama, meaning that Hairyama took damage right away.
Daniel: Greninja! Now, Attack!
Greninja flipped forward, it then used its tongue to wrap around Hairyama. 
Brawly: Oh no you don't!
Just as the tongue began to wrap around Hairyama, it grabbed the tip.
Greninja's eyes opened wide. It wasn't expecting it.
Brawly: Cross Chop!
Hairyama slammed down on the tongue, hurting Greninja.
Greninja's tongue wrapped back around its neck. 
Daniel: Attack!
Greninja began punching and kicking Hairyama. 
Hairyama was thrust backwards
Amy: This is going well isn't it! 
Brawly: Dude let's do it! 
Machop came out of its pokeball, it jumped into the ring, latching onto Greninja, it then jumped up, throwing Greninja up with it, and then landed on top of it!
Alun: Ouch, Seismic Toss!
Hairayama then used Mega Punch! 
Greninja was thrown into the side of the ring, KO'd.
Referee: Round 1 goes to Brawly and Erin.
Daniel clenched his fist. 
Amy: Another loss........
Evan: But Dan's good at battling.
Joel: It's not the same kind of battle he's used to kiddo.
Evan: But I want Dan to win.

Clare: ....It's an entirely different game, he has to get use to it.... you can be really good at one thing but not all those skills translate, so you work tirelessly to overcome those weaknesses
*Delibird looked at her nodding, aware she was partially familiar with that herself*
Clare: But he will..... he will succeed, you can count on that Evan, even if I have to train it into him myself *she looked at the battlefield, a burning passion in her eyes*
*Delibird looked at her, in fear, remembering his old training sessions with her*

Dan stepped out of the ring, head down.
Alun put his hand on his shoulder.
Alun: Hey it's not over yet. We can pull this back. 
Alun stepped into the ring. 
Daniel: Good luck mate.
Alun: Cheers pal! 

Erin and Brawly swapped places. 
Erin: Braixen!!!!!
Braixen appeared, it flipped onto the ring, holding its stick, which was engulfed with a flame. 
Alun: Braixen? Fair dos. I choose Azumarill!
Erin: Wow, shiny! 
Azumarill: Azu!
Alun: Azumarill use Aqua Jet!
Erin: Flame Charge!
Azumaril shot upwards, ready to land its attack.
Braixen shot forward, dodging the attack, then launching a Flamethrower! 
Azumarill was hit from behind, suddenly getting kicked and slapped in the back. 
Alun: Azumarill, use your tail!
Azumarill slapped Braixen's hand out of the way with its tail, before jumping round to face it and headbutting it. It then launched a Hydro Pump! 
Braixen was blasted backwards
Alun: Hitmontop! Help us out! 
Hitmontop came out, spinning into Braixen and knocking it down. 
Alun: Now's your chance, ATTACK!
Azumarill then began to slap Braixen with its tail. 
Braixen fell! 
KO!
Erin: Nice job, so that makes it a draw so far!
Brawly: Nice one dudes, when you it gets to the third round, the Pokken expert takes the lead, so your opponent will automatically be Erin!
Alun: Ace, Dan? You wanna take the lead here?
Daniel: You sure???
Alun: Of course! Show them who's in charge!
Daniel: Really?
Minun: Mai
Turtwig: TWIG!
Evan: Smash it Dan!
Amy: You can do it!!

Clare: Tare her down Dan! We know you can do it!

Daniel: Greninja! We've got to win this!!!
Alun: You've got this!
Greninja: GREN!
Erin: So, here we go, the winner of this round wins the match.
Daniel: Greninja! We've got this!
Greninja nodded
Erin: Braixen and I won't go down easily. 
Braixen flipped forward, stick alight, it used Flamethrower on Greninja! 
Daniel: Extrasensory! 
Greninja fired out its attack, 
Erin: Counter with Psychic! 
The 2 psychic attacks held each other off. 
Daniel: Greninja use your tongue! 
Greninja's tongue unwrapped from its neck, it then lashed forwards at Braixen. 
Erin: End it! 
Braixen lifted its stick up, the tongue wrapped around it, it let go, as the stick went to Greninja! 
Greninja looked confused that it failed to grab Braixen. 
Braixen jumped forward, scratching at Greninja's eyes. Blinding it. 
Braixen then used Flame Charge, hitting Greninja, before flipping into it kicking its legs, and then bombarding it with slaps and kicks. Greninja was taken by surprise, it was unable to get a move in. Braixen continued to attack.
Daniel froze.....
Daniel: G-...
Before he could finish his word, Greninja collapsed to the ground. 
Evan: No.....
Amy held her hands on her heart
Amy: Oh no!
Minun's ears lowered
Minun: Mai
Turtwig's leaf sagged.
Turtwig: Twig!
Alun stood by the ring. 
Referee: Greninja is unable to go on. Erin and Brawly win the match. 
Daniel: Greninja.....
Daniel ran up to Greninja. 
Daniel: She didn't even use an assist pokemon, she didn't even use Synergy......Greninja I'm sorry. 
The barrier disappeared.
Alun approached Daniel, putting his hand on his shoulder.
Alun: Bad luck mate, I really thought you had that in the bag.
Daniel: I'm...
Alun: Don't.....don't say sorry. 
Daniel: . . . 
Evan, Minun and Turtwig ran up to Dan, all jumping onto him.
Daniel: Thanks guys.
Amy, Alex and Joel approached. 
Amy: Bad luck Dan, Al. But hey, it's not all over. 
Erin: Sure, come back and challenge us when ever you feel ready.


The gang went back to the pokemon center, the night was coming.
Alex and Joel had their bags packed. Ready to head to their next destination.
Alex: Well, unlucky Dan, better luck next time.
Joel: Yeah, come on Dan, you need to catch up
Amy: Well it was nice meeting you. 
Alex: You too Amy
Joel: Yeah!
Alun: We'll see you soon
Evan: Bye!
Daniel: . . .
Alex and Joel left. 
That night, the gang went to bed. Amy and Clare sharing a room, whilst the others slept in their room, Daniel however, laid wide awake.

Daniel got up, and went on to the balcony, looking over at the waves crashing on to the beach below, he leant up against the railings, as the wind breezed through his hair, taking a large sigh. 
He began thinking about all the great things he had done, winning his first gym match for the Pewter City gym badge, going on adventures with Jack, Lowri and Kurt, then being joined by Amy and Luke, and soon after Ashley, Lucas, Sid and Mika, then Dawn and Meryl. Finally being reminded of James, Flannery, Evan, Alun and Clare. He then started thinking of every single one of his pokemon, from Minun to Bagon. How many victories he's shared with them all, and how he lost, but then how he managed to overcome them. But then remembered, something wasn't working this time, whatever he tried, he couldn't get to grips with it. He then grabbed his jacket silently, and exited the pokecenter.

He started walking along the beach, gently walking through the shallow water, he then looked out to the deep sea, and stared at the boats floating. 
Suddenly a familiar voice spoke out.
Alun was behind him
Alun: It's beautiful isn't it?
Daniel: . . .
Alun: It's nice  to take in the silence from time to time, and hear the waves crashing gently into the shore. 
Daniel turned to look at Alun.
Daniel: If I wasn't your partner, you'd already have beaten the first facility. 
Alun: What does that matter though?
Daniel: You're good at Pokken, and I'm holding you back.
Alun: Look Dan, I'm not interested in winning unless you win it with me. You're the reason I'm entering the Pokken League, you asked me. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have considered it, so I wouldn't want to win unless I was winning with you. At the end of the day, this is new to you, some people try new things and it comes naturally to them. I definitely wasn't a natural when it came to Pokeathlon. But I didn't let that hold me back, I failed time after time, but still held my head high, and thought that my luck would change, and it did. I lost a lot, but I still went into every competition with confidence. And that confidence eventually pulled through. Tell me, your very first gym battle, what happened?
Daniel: My first one.....it was at Pewter City, against the gym leader Brock, he beat me badly, I didn't even dent his team, Geodude took down both Minun and Rattata. 
Alun: And how did you feel?
Daniel: Like a failure. 
Alun: So when it comes to being a trainer. Do you think you're a failure?
Daniel: Well, I love my pokemon, and I know they respect and love me, that's important for a trainer, and when we win, we win together. 
Alun: I'll ask again, do you think you're a failure?
Daniel: Well, not really.
Alun: Think of all the amazing things you've done as a trainer, all those gym badges, coming top 2 in a league, beating your rivals, beating the Battle Frontier. You're right, you're not a failure. Not at all. And this, this is new to you, you'll learn to adjust and you'll get it, and when you're ready, I'll be there, fighting alongside you, as your battle partner. 
Daniel: And mentor?
Alun: If that's how you see it, then yes. But also as a friend.

Daniel: Yeah I guess we did in a way.
Alun: And that's a testament to your character Dan, you're brilliant, you really are, yet you still don't think you are. Everyone else believes in you. 
Daniel: But I need to believe in myself.
Alun: You said it. Now are you coming to back to go to sleep?
Daniel: Yeah, I....I just want to take in this view a little longer.
Alun: Alright, well then Dan, I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight mate!
Daniel: Goodnight. . . 
Alun went back to the pokecenter. 
Daniel sat on the sand, still looking out at the ocean, he then pulled the Pokken handbook out of his pocket, and began reading it under the starlight, before falling asleep on the sand. 


Daniel's eyes began to open, he could hear a voice.
His eyes blinked ever so slowly, and then suddenly they opened wide, towering over him was Evan with Minun and Turtwig beside him.
Evan: Wake up sleepy head. 
Daniel: Evan? What time is it?
Evan: 7am! I noticed you weren't in the room and looked on the balcony and saw you lying on the beach.
Daniel: Ah! Well cheers for the wake up call.
Evan plonked himself next to Dan.
Evan: I can't wait for your rematch Dan!
Daniel: You can't?
Evan: I think its going to be one of the best battles I'll watch. I can't wait for you to stomp all over them. 
Daniel: You think that's what'll happen?
Evan: Think it? No I know it! There's no way you'll lose twice! You're going be winning next time. I know it for sure.
Minun: Mai
Turtwig: Twig!
Daniel: Thanks guys! 
Daniel shot up.
Daniel: Hey, do you think breakfast will be ready now? I'll race you too it! And I won't be leaving any for you haha!
Daniel ran along the beach
Evan: Hey no fair!
Evan got up, with Minun and Turtwig following Dan in pursuit. 

Amy sat on her and Clare's balcony, watching.
Amy: He really cares for Evan doesn't he Phanpy?
Phanpy: Phan
Amy: I hope he pulls through, I know he will, he always does. He's got a good group of friends to support him. And we're here too help!
Phanpy: Phan phanpy!

Clare:..... We have to be there for him, and help him through this
*Delibird looked at her confused*
Clare:...And for your information, he does really care about Evan, sorta made a bad first impression when I asked to join this little adventuring party of his the first time because I said something stupid about the situation, but the point is he does greatly care for Evan, honestly will probably do anything for him.....
*Clare looked at Delibird*
Clare:.......Can you meet us out back? bring Dan along after breakfast? I think I have something that may be able to give him a little push... maybe help him out a bit *Clare started to stretch, looking out the balcony* It won't be dangerous or anything, but honestly, we can be here for him emotionally all we want, but if we can give him tools to try and get more focused and thinking in the moment...... we may be able to give him a little extra training to both get his mind in the game, and let Evan see how awesome he is....... his positive reinforcements may be enough to get the ball rolling
*Delibird flew out of the Balcony, Clare reaching for and grabbing his leg, while Delibird couldn't carry anyone considering how small the Pokemon was, the two did gently glided down to the ground below, the two moving to the back of the Pokemon center to prepare a basic training exercise*
*Clare landed at the ground, turning to their balcony*
Clare: *Clare raised her voice, yelling at Amy so she could hear her* By the end of today, you and me will wipe him into shape, "Natalie" *she smirked looking up at Amy, using her fake name in case bystanders heard her* after all I am sure a pro like you doesn't want to be shown up by a girl with only 8 badges, I mean I am just a newbie

Clare: So, slow reaction times is one area of improvement, and in fact Synergy with ones Pokemon.....
*Delibird nodded*
Clare: So team building and adaptability.... alright, so maybe something in the style of the old youth Volleyball training system... Ice Beam the area
*Delibird sat there, blasting the ground with ice, creating a Hexagon style arena, with walls on most sides going to about 7 feet, the dimensions roughly of a Pokken Arena, made of ice, easily see through, in the arena was a few icicles jetting from the ground, on the other side of the Arena as Delibird, there as a tool for Dan if he would use it*
Clare: Alright.. there is two ways this works.... he either gets more in tune with his Pokemon........ or he'll have to think outside of the box to land a few hits in..... Delibird, can I count on you?
*Delibird looked at her, flying into the ring, giving her a thumbs up, waiting for Dan to finish his food and for the gang to start work on some training*
* Clare waiting there, nervously, mind starting to drift*
*Delibird turned around looking at his trainer from the wall*
Delibird: Deli?
Clare: I....It's nothing, It's nothing, no need to worry about me
*Delibird thought it over for a minute, before pointing at her, a mild smirk on his face, quickly flying down and blasting a very concentrated ice beam on the back of her hand, her holding it up to cover her face, him flying back up to the wall*
Clare: What on earth are you *She looked at her hand, seeing in ice, Delibird had drawn a heart* D..Delibird
Delibird: *Delibird glared at her* Delibird bird?
Clare: I..... well... ya.... it's not like I am hiding it am I? *She looked at her Pokemon a light red*
*Delibird smirked, looking at her, before getting a confident smug look on his face*
Clare: Oh, not with her right there just a few feet away, like that would ever work
*Delibird stood on the wall giving her the same glare he gave Finn and Daniel, looking at her confidently, a burning passion in his eyes, pretty much telling her to give her rivalry everything she got*
*Clare's face became redder and redder as the thought entered her mind, before Delibird slipped, hitting his chin against the top of the ice wall, Clare letting out a laugh*
Clare: Alright, alright, I really needed that, good one Delibird
*Delibird pouted, turning to the arena, sitting facing the other side of it, waiting for Dan and crew to show up*
Clare:......I'll ask for permission when my training session is over, don't worry Delibird, he would never even consider me unless I get Evan's blessing, but for now focus on the training
*Delibird nodded, turning around, getting ready for a fight*

The gang went for the meal, and then soon finished up, heading outside to see Clare's arena.
Daniel: Woah! That's so cool! 
Alun: Impressive! 
Evan: Its sparkly! 
Amy smirked
The gang joined Clare, ready for training, Daniel and Alun trained against Clare and Amy for well over an hour. 
Daniel: Phew!
Alun: Well then I think that's enough! How you feeling Dan?
Daniel: You know I think I'm more confident. 
Alun: That's the spirit!

Clare: Good work out there everyone
Delibird: Delibird!
*Delibird turned to Clare, giving her a thumbs up*
Clare: Glad to see you in such good spirits Dan

Later that week, the gang revisted Dewford Gym. 
Daniel and Alun stood in the boxing ring
Erin: So you guys ready for round 2?
Brawly: Dudes I was hoping you'd come back soon and here you are!
Daniel: We're ready!
Erin: In that case, I'll go first this time.
Daniel: And I'll go first again too! 
Erin: Excellent! Shall we begin?
Daniel: Sure! 




Daniel and Erin stood opposite each other in the ring. 
Erin: Braixen! 
Daniel: Greninja! 
Referee: Begin!
Daniel: Greninja attack!
Greninja began hitting Braixen with its tongue.
Erin: Braixen don't take that!
Braixen held out its stick, Greninja grabbing onto it. 
Erin: Trapped! 
Braixen lit up its stick, burning Greninja's tongue!
Greninja: GREEEEEN!
Daniel: Sly! Greninja! Water Pulse on your tongue!
Greninja used Water Pulse to cool down its tongue. 
Greninja was feeling better, however it was distracted, and thus Braixen launched a Psywave at it, knocking it backwards into the barrier
Daniel: Darn it! She's so in sync. 
Erin: Emolga! LET'S GO!
Out of the pokeball came Emolga, using Discharge, shocking Greninja. 
Daniel: NO!
Erin: Nice job Emolga. 
Greninja laid on the ground, hurt. 
Daniel: Okay okay! If you're using your assist, then so am I. Pyroar! GO!
Pyroar came out, releasing a Flamethrower, Braixen hopped onto its stick, using it like a broomstick, and taking into the air to dodge the attack. 
Alun: FOCUS!
Daniel paused.
Alun: Don't copy her, be yourself. 
Daniel: Right! 
Daniel got back into the zone, focused. Just like that, Braixen began dancing around the ring, stars appeared, along with bubbles and sparkles, it then used its stick, to cast a psychic attack, lifting Greninja into the air, followed by a flamethrower attack, which exploded, causing fireworks to appear. Greninja fell down to the ground. 
Daniel: NO!
Referee: Greninja is down. 
Daniel: NO NO NO!
Alun: Relax Dan. Just relax, its not over, we've still got a chance to bring it back. 
Alun and Dan swapped places in the ring. 
As did Erin and Brawly. 
Alun: Azumarill!
Brawly: GO Hairyama! 
Daniel: Ace it Azumarill! 
Referee: Begin! 
Brawly: Hairyama, use Cross Chop! 
Hairyama's to arms swung together, smacking Azumarill. 
Alun: Azumarill, use that tail!
Azumarill's tail slammed onto the ground, throwing it into the air, Azumarill shot a Hydro Pump down onto Hairyama, it then landed behind it, smashing its tail into Hairyama multiple times.
Brawly: Hairyama, grab it! 
Hairyama held onto Azumarill, it then threw it up into the air, and slammed it into the ground.
Brawly: Awesome Seissmic Toss dude!
Azumarill stood back up.
Alun: Hitmontop! HELP US OUT!
Hitmontop came out of its ball, spinning into Hairyama, knocking it over before returning to its ball.
Alun: Azumarill, now. Use Ice Beam! 
Hairyama held out its fist, punching the attack, ice blasting out around Hairyama. 
Alun: Now slam it!
Brawly: DUDE!
From behind the ice beam, Azumarill slammed its tail into Hairyama. 
Alun: SYNERGY!
Azumarill slapped Hairyama with its tail multiple times, hitting it into the air. Water then surround Azumarill, who used Aqua Jet to launched into the air, whilst using Ice Beam at the same time to create a sharp shard of ice to jam into Hairyama as it shot across the air. 
Hairyama was stabbed by the ice aqua jet. Hairyama pelted to the ground. 
Referee: Hairyama is unable to battle. 
Brawly: Dude that was awesome! 
Erin: Okay boys, who's up against me? 
Alun looked at Dan.
Daniel: You go Al!
Alun: Dan, its even, we can still win. 
Daniel: Yeah, so you go for it.
Alun: DAN. Our chat. You've got it. Just relax this time.
Evan: GO DAN GO!
Amy: You can do it!
Daniel: R-Right
Minun: Mai
Turtwig: TWIG!
Daniel stepped into the ring. 
Erin: Okay Hot shot, hope you're ready! 
Daniel: Greninja! WE'VE GOT THIS!
Erin: Braixen, don't let them stomp on our parade! 
Braixen: BRAIXEN!
Referee: GO!
Daniel: Come at us!
Erin: Sure, Braixen, use Psywave! 
Out of Braixen's stick, came out an attack.
Daniel: Water Pulse! 
A blast of water shot out
Daniel: Barrier! 
The barrier protected Greninja. 
The psywave crashed into Greninja's barrier, however the water pulse hit Braixen. 
Erin: You distracted me? Nice move. 
Daniel: Greninja!
As Braixen tried to regain its footing, Greninja began smacking it with its tongue. 
Erin: OUCH!
Suddenly, Braixen began to shine.
Daniel: WOAH!
Evan: Is it?

Braixen evolved into Delphox! 
Daniel: A Delphox? *gulps* 
Alun: Dan, stay focused. Its just the same as before, its still that same opponent. You have to relax and focus on this match. 
Daniel: Right. Nods. 
Erin: Delphox! Attack
Delphox hopped onto its broom stick, flying at Greninja like a rocket. 
Daniel: Pyroar!
Pyroar came out and used Flamethrower. 
The flames pushed Delphox back.

Alun smirked. 
Alun: He's in sync. 
Daniel: Synergy! 
Greninja's tongue wrapped around Delphox, launching it into the skies, Greninja then used Extrasensory, holding Delphox in the air, whilst launching out a water pulse and dark pulse combo, as the blast was launched out, Greninja used its tongue to give it extra power, blasting the attack into Delphox. Delphox came tumbling to the ground. 
Referee: DELPHOX IS UNABLE TO BATTLE, ROUND 3 GOES TO GRENINJA, MAKING DANIEL AND ALUN THE VICTORS.

Daniel fell to his knees. 
Alun smirked once again 
Daniel: We.....we....won? 
Greninja licked Daniel's face.
Minun and Turtwig ran into Daniel. 
Daniel: We actually won.
Alun patted Daniel on his shoulder. 
Alun: Dan, you found your confidence.
Daniel: I-I did. And I wouldn't have gotten it if it weren't for you. And of course the rest for all their help. But that chat. Thank you.
Alun: Don't mention it. 
Erin and Brawly: Daniel, Alun, for your victory here today please accept the Green belt. 
Erin and Brawly handed Daniel and Alun a green belt each. 
Erin: The Pokken league hands out belts to the victors, in order to qualify for the league, you need to have obtained all 6. 
Brawly: And the second one which is available is at Mauvile City's gym. 
Daniel: Mauvile city? Awesome, I love that place.
Brawly: Dude, a lot has changed in Mauvile since the disaster. 
Daniel: Oh? 

That evening, the gang sat in the pokecenter, having a mini celebration.
Amy: Well done both of you!
Evan: You're both going to win the league, I just know it. 
Alun: Thanks guys. 
Amy: Which means, Mauvile city is up next, so the best route is through Slateport City and up Route 110. 
Daniel: Sounds good to me.

Clare: And you'll knock'em dead there too won't you tiger? *Clare lightly punched Dan's shoulder as she said that*
???: finally glad to get out of that little mess, still take it easy they said huh? *A man was walking in the center, walking by Dan and his crew before stopping, rubbing the back of his neck, before stopping and looking at Dan's group*
Clare:.......I....it's you
Sid:... Daniel? Wait, you know him?
Clare: Y....ya, do you?
Sid: Yep, though I am sure he doesn't like remembering how we said goodbye last
Clare: What do you mean?
Sid:...Let's just say I wasn't a pocket full of sunshine right Dan?

Daniel rose from his chair, clenching his fist. 
Minun pulled an angry face whilst Turtwig gritted its teeth. 
Amy: Sid? 
Alun: Who?
Evan: Yeah who?
Amy: You've got a nerve showing up and actually speaking to Dan don't you?
Minun's cheeks began to spark.

*Sid looked down at him*
Sid: Skyla sent me hear for some rehabilitation, you know my body got hurt during the whole ordeal right? So.. Brawly has been helping me out
*Clare held her hand over Dan's fist, clasping it around it, shaking her head in a no*
Sid: I didn't talk to you first you know, she talked to me *Sid pointed to Clare*
Clare: It's not worth it Dan, no matter what it is, it's not worth it
Sid: I did stupid things that I am not proud of *Sid reached down, pulling out Brett's medallion* he wouldn't be proud either, but I couldn't stand what they did to him, that they took him without a second thought, and you stayed there in my way not letting me go after them...... while I am not proud of the actions I took, and while not what justice is, Brett deserved Retribution for what they did to him
*Clare patted Dan's fist looking at him*
Clare: *In a hushed voice she whispered to him* Please, don't Dan, you are better than this
*Sid's eyes went to Clare's hand on Daniel's raising an eyebrow at that act*
Sid: If it means anything, I am sorry about what happened

Daniel aggresively pulled his hand away from Clare.
Daniel: Don't touch me. 
Amy: Dan...
Daniel: You're sorry? You're sorry? Is that all you can say? I was turned to stone and held captive for a whole year. Jack, Minun and Turtwig were captured and tortured. And Dawn had to travel around Unova trying to help us whilst the whole nation thought she was a criminal, and where the heck were you? And then when we tried stopping Team Plasma and Team Rocket from going war, you stood in my way and tried to stop me. And then you come in here playing the pity card? I get that you wanted to avenge Brett, and I'm sorry that you're body was hurt so badly. But how....how on earth can you just come strolling in here and acting like nothing happened. Me and my friends had to fight, nearly dying and losing their lives, and you did nothing to help us. Yeah, Brett was killed, and I wish that hadn't happened, But you let revenge misguide you whilst your friends were suffering, friends who stuck by you. Was it worth it. 
Alun put his hand on Dan's shoulder. 
Alun: Dan.....stay calm.
Amy: You've got it off your chest now.
Evan: You're scaring me.
Daniel: Ev, I'm sorry. Its okay.....*gives Evan a reassuring hug*

Sid:.....you are angry at me and have every right to be, that you spent a year in stone while I was off doing some pity revenge.... but that rage that hatred you felt for losing one year? Brett lost all of his....... was it worth it, heck no, but the gym leaders sat back and really didn't do anything, so honestly if it wasn't me who did it for him who would it be? Do you honestly think that Rebecca girl even remembers the biker who threw himself in front of her to save her life? I am not naive into thinking I can be forgiven for the actions I took, they were stupid, rash and over all very misguided, me trying to get revenge instead of fixing a problem, it was stupid, but it was the decision I made in the headspace I was in *Sid fiddled around with his medallion* The guy who was everything I was destined to be, able to deal with the hardships in his life and move forward with them, heck, you saw him, he even looked just like me, and I watched him just.... end, you really have no idea how bad that was for someone as fragile as I was..... man it was stupid, it's not nothing that I approached you, it was to apologize, and nothing more
*Clare rubbed her own hand, looking at Daniel*

Daniel: Yeah....well too little, too late.
Daniel stormed out of the pokemon center. 
Evan went to follow, but Alun stopped him, shaking his head. 
Alun: He needs to be alone right now. He's not in the right frame of mind. 
Amy: Sid, give him time. He needs time. He'll start to understand.

Sid:...I kind of get that, it wasn't the best parting terms
Clare: H..he really is trusting to the point of his own determent
Sid: Always letting us weirdos into his group before we do something stupid and ruin everything, sounds about right, but honestly, that's probably one of his strongest personality traits
Clare: It really is
*Sid had a smile on his face, trying to lighten the mood*
Sid:..... which of course is totally why you have feelings for him
*Clare turned a bright red, looking at the group before turning to Sid to defend herself*
Clare: N....no I don't what on earth would make you think something like that!? Geez, you don't even know me and you already seem to be pretending to know me like that, you can't really make a guess like that
Sid: Ya, you totally are right, I have no idea if that little hand thing you pulled was something romantic in it's attempt, hey Amy, you think she has it bad? *Sid looked at Amy for reassurance, Clare looking back at her, a bright red* She would be a better judge of your character than me wouldn't she?

Amy wasn't acknowledging the conversation much, she was too busy focusing on her friend, she then ran out of the poke center.
Alun and Evan stood at the door, wondering what was going to happen. 


Daniel was at the beach, once again watching the waves, throwing pebbles into the water.
Amy sat down beside him, wrapping her arm around his arm and leaning her head on his shoulder.

Amy: I'm sorry that happened then Dan. You alright?
Daniel: It's been on my chest for a few years now. See I don't think I had proper closure, so it all built up. Plus I'm fed up Am. I so so fed up. 
Amy: Fed up? Of what? 
Daniel: Befriending people, opening up to them, letting them in.....and then turning against me. First Luke, then Sid, James, I'm just so fed up of it.
Amy: This James? He sounds like he pushed you a bit too far.
Daniel: You know, I really thought I found a best friend in him.
Amy: Al says he was always nice to you though.
Daniel: Well yeah he used to mock me, and put me down, but in a friend kind of way. And well, I really let him in, I helped him become a good trainer and then all of sudden, he turned against me, I've felt betrayal, Luke betrayed me, and I've seen revenge through Sid, but for some reason, he betrayed me and wanted revenge, and it really hurt me. It really really did. I'm getting fed up of letting people come with me on adventures, turning against me and then leaving me feel so down. Sometimes I think, would I be better off alone. 
Amy: You don't mean that!
Daniel: And part of me feels really sorry for Clare.
Amy: Whys that?
Daniel: Because no matter how hard I try, I just feel like she's going to end up the same, as the rest of them. And so I keep resenting her. 
Amy: Well yeah, if you resent her, you're going to send her down that route. 
Daniel: I take people, and I fashion them into bad people.
Amy: No you don't.
Daniel: Oh really? Luke? James? Sid in a way, heck even Jack has gone down hill apparently. 
Amy: Yeah, but look at all the people you've travelled with Dan. Kurt's doing really well as a ranger, Ashley is a frontier brain....because of you. Mika is a world famous fashion star, you even made me famous. 
Daniel: And look how that ended.
Amy: So I wasn't made out for it, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't of been successful. Dawn's doing well isn't she?
Daniel: Yeah I guess.
Amy: And take a look at Alun and Evan. The 3 of you are so close, I haven't seen you get this close before, the relationship between the 3 of you, it works Dan, it just works, you look up to Alun, Evan looks up to you, Alun looks out for you, you look out for Evan. Its sweet, it really is.
Daniel: You think? 
Amy: Yeah, its one of the attractive things about you.
